William Fraser Tolmie (1812-1886), graduated from the Medical College of Edinburgh, joined the service of the Hudson's Bay Company, arrived at Fort Vancouver in 1833, and later became chief trader at Fort Nisqually and agent of the Puget Sound Agricultural Company.
